Lux Aeterna sings a variety of early music including simple plainchant, pastoral and carnival songs, Freemen's and Consort songs, motets, intermedii, early Mass settings, madrigals and chansons. Songs involving the whole choir alternate with others sung by groups or soloists with instrumentalists and can include our own arrangements from manuscript sources, using the building to maximum effect where possible.

Recently performed items include plainchant from the Libre Vermell de Montserrat (c.1370), sacred polyphony by Jacob Clemens non Papa,Tomas Luis de Victoria and Hans Leo Hassler, secular chansons by Jacques Arcadelt, Pierre Certon, Clement Janequin and
Pierre Passereau, English madrigals by Orlando Gibbons, Thomas Morley, John Farmer
and others, consort songs by Richard Nicholson and chamber organ pieces by Peter Phillips and Jan Pieter Sweelinck.
